Meet Up Greet Up

As we all know, this year has been full of many wake-up calls. Between COVID-19, the increase of media attention surrounding police brutality, racism and racial tension, this year has caused many to open their eyes to the reality of our situations, not only as people, but as minorities in particular. We have seen quite a polarizing response to this topic in Lynchburg, Virginia; however, the overall unity of people and the support of many has been quite impressive.

Through the recent deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor, many have joined the conversation of police brutality and injustice experienced by people of color throughout the country. Through this, our ministry has also received donations in their name. While we appreciate these funds, we want to ensure that we are making the most impact with our funds, which brings us to this meet up!

We want to be intentional about seeing change, which is why we are inviting you, leaders from key organizations in the Greater Lynchburg area, to bridge the gap between each of our organizations and come up with strategies that can help the people we are all called to impact. We hope that you will choose to be a part of this meet up and are so excited for the possible outcomes. We have recognized the impact that each of your organizations and religious institutions bring to our city and hope that together we can make a huge impact that will assist all of our interests while also bringing some very positive change to Lynchburg.

Our first meeting produced quite a few results and solutions! However, we wanted to bring more people to the table and have a wider discussion to ensure that we can impact as many people as possible. We would love for YOU to be a part of this second conversation and help us bring lasting impact to our community.

The Meet Up will be held on Saturday, October 3 beginning at 10 a.m. at Peaceful Baptist. Please fill out the form below and let us know if you will be able to take your seat at the table. If you find that the date/time doesn’t allow you to attend, but you still want to be part of the conversation, please let us know in the comment section of the form.

Please Note: We will be observing health standards set by the Governor. For this meeting we will be practicing social distancing and wearing our mask. We will keep the conversation focused and efficient.

BE SAFE. WEAR A MASK.
